Metro State Championships
Saturday January 30th was a great day for the Mountain View Wrestling Club. Nine of fourteen qualifiers placed at this prestigious event. That is the most placers in our clubs history at this event and the most top two placers at 5.
Malachi C. is our first ever 3x Champion and is only 8! Travis B. brings home his first championship trophy. Erik C. battles battles his way from the consulation bracket and takes 2nd overall and Braden B. made it to the finals just falling short of winning his 2nd championship. New comer Brennan T. went home with 2nd place as well.
Bringing home their first league championship trophies were Trey H. taking 3rd overall, Jacob Nix 4th, Dalton W. 5th and Garrett D. 6th.
Regionals A Huge Success for MVWC
The Regional tournament was a great success for the MVWC. 14 of 20 participants made it to the final tournament. Regional placers will contend for a Metro League Title.

Regionals Here We Come
This past week the Mat Kats were in action for the first time in 2010 and the results were awesome. 21 of 30 wrestlers will advance to the Regional Tournament in two weeks. Below is a list of qualifiers and their district place.

Christmas Classic Results
The Mat Kats did well this past weekend at the Christmas Classic held at the Butler Hancock Gymnasium in Greeley. It was a great tournament that will get the boys prepared for the upcoming District tournament in Janauary. There was lots of good competition and our boys all made us proud. 20 boys attended the tournament with seven brining home some hardware.

Coach Joe Stricker Returns to MVWC
The MVWC welcomed back Coach Joe Stricker over the Thanksgiving holiday. Joe is currently serving his country in Iraq. We would like to thank Joe and all of the US service men and women for all they do around the world. We would like to wish Joe and all US Armed Forces a happy holiday season and a safe return to their families. Thanks for all you do for us!
